TGIF Again!

So looking forward today, my weekend is extended!   I'm being treated to see Chicago musical in London how cool is that!  I'm so excited I woke up early this morning before 5am.  Can't wait to get ready and just hit the road but that would be silly because the show is not until tonight.

I shall let you know the outcome sometime this weekend or if I don't get a chance to write I'm sure will find time next week.  Will have the same busy weekend I suppose without the rugby, they're not playing until next Saturday.  Skiing will probably be on.  I can't really keep up with the schedule of sport program.  I'm one of God's hopeless creation for remembering sport!

Anyway I hope you all have a good weekend.  Thanks for dropping by come back and read some more of my stories later pleeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaassssssssssssssssseeeeeeeeeeeeeee... Tah.

The Job

When I started that morning I wasn’t really sure what was expected of me.  I was sent to follow Roy around to show me what to do.  When Isabella told me in my interview that the job involved doing everything she meant “EVERYTHING”.   There was only three staff me, Roy and Deidre the breakfast lady.   So we all have to muck in specially me and Roy to do everything.

In the morning as early as 6.30am Deidre comes in from Monday to Saturday to serve breakfast until 9am.  Then it was our turn to cover breakfast if we still have some guests left or any walk in customers. When the coast was clear we started clearing the rooms, check out usually between seven and nine.   We would then have tea break around eleven and if all the rooms were done we then clean the pub and restaurant to get it ready for lunch.  Since the place was open all day we also check guests in, answer the phone, check internet bookings, clean, wash linens, iron and whatever else it was that Isabella wanted done.  The best way to describe the morning was absolute and utter chaos.

The afternoon was a lot calmer. Not a soul in site so I got a break between three and six. Roy usually just sat outside smoking just in case somebody comes in.  At this time I could really do with the break I was very exhausted, as soon as I got in my room I dived into my bed and had an afternoon nap.  I felt much better having the nap which became a habit afterwards.

Evening work was very different from morning.  There was more interaction with people.  Guests started coming down for their evening meals, locals came in to have a drink before heading home for their dinner.   Mr Ted popped in for a drink and chatted with the locals.  I didn’t get much chance to speak to him as I was very busy.  He waved goodbye and promised to be back sometime later.   Isabella was a little calmer and getting ready to do her evening shop for food supply (she did her shopping at night to get good bargains). We were quite busy that night so I had to help Roy in the kitchen cook, wash up and serve.  I was running around like a headless chicken trying to serve and please everyone.

Just when I was getting a little order in the place Isabella came back from shopping it was just a little after nine.  She entered the room in a jolly good mood greeting everyone like her best friend.  She was so different from the woman I saw in the morning.  I then helped Roy unload the shopping in the kitchen and cellar.  I saw Mr Ted in the bar as I came back up from the cellar being served by Isabella.  He’s had a change of clothes and shower which made him look a lot better, I thought.  We chatted in between service and he stayed until closing time. It was hard work and long hours but I enjoyed myself at the end of the evening I did hope for it to get easier though.  I slept right through the night for the very first time.

Please come back and read my next story.  Find out what Isabella and Roy are like. Thank you for reading.

Annoying Neighbours!

Christ I've been listening to a loud head banging techno club music since seven this morning! I can't work and write please beam my neighbours up Scotty! I think they are having an exteded party from last night. Only god knows what they've eaten because I definitely don't want it at this time of the day.

Can somebody please give any suggestions to stop the noise.  I tried asking them to turn the b****y music down but ignored me.  I can't concentrate with my work. Oh hang on the music stopped! Could this be a result? Nope here we go again......... I so not want trouble today so wish me luck! Hopefully I get to finish my next story.

Destiny

Wednesday 1pm I received an unexpected phone call from Mr Ted.  When his name came up on my mobile my heart beat accelerated I wasn’t expecting his call until after six because that was the time we arranged for him to pick me up.  I said to myself that if he was to cancel or change the day I will decline the offer and not go ahead with the job, I was still reluctant to work for Isabella.  It was the opposite Mr Ted had finished early and would like to pick me up sooner.  I texted him my full address to program in his sat nav and promised to be there in an hour or so.

I rushed packing and waited for him.  An hour had past then I received another call from him explaining his sat nav got lost.  I presumed that his sat nav wasn’t able to tell a one way system so we’ve arranged to meet up by the pub without realizing that I’ve only seen this man once and very briefly.  I did remember the blond hair and blue eyes however I thought he’s a little taller than last I seen him perhaps because I was wearing my trainers and not my high heel shoes. As I approached a big smile of relief was quite obvious in his face, so was mine I think he recognized me instantly.  It was like a scene of two long lost friends meeting again.

On the way back I tried to get as much information from Mr Ted about the village and the people I’m going to work for.  He was very pleasant but only answers my questions without elaborating things.  I made a point of telling that I find him quiet, big mistake!   As we got near the village he drove me around the area showed me his family’s house, friend’s farm and took me to meet Frankie his horse.  When we got to my work place he offered to take me to the local pub that night to meet the village folks which I gladly accepted.

The pub was busy that night and everyone knew him.  I got introduced to so many people I didn’t remember a name at all.  Everyone was very friendly and accommodating however I felt a little awkward as all eyes on us.  I found out later it was the first time he walked in the pub with a lady friend for three years.   Someone no one knew.

We eventually got a chance to sit down when my phone started beeping with text messages.  Just for a laugh I showed him what was on the message.  It was my flat mate asking me if I have a boyfriend.   He told me to text him back to say “no, but he’s working on it”.  I took it as a joke and didn’t make a fuss.  I had no intention of another relationship at the time.  The wound from my past was still fresh and soar.

We didn’t stay very late that night due to me starting work the next day.  I had a wonderful time with him and sensed chemistry between us.  It was the first time I truly enjoyed a male company for a while.

Please come and read what happened on my first day at work.   Please leave a comment and share your life experiences. Thank you for reading.

Fun Weekend!

Hello everyone great weekend we had a double whammy.  England won against France then Wales won against Italy in Six Nations Rugby, how cool is that!  England is heading to a grand slam of this season fingers crossed.

Brilliant band played at the local on Saturday night.  Guess what I’ve been sensible ... or not, ha!  Then my partner’s mum cooked roast dinner yesterday I felt like I was on holiday.  I didn’t lift a finger over the weekend, loooooooooveeeeeely.  I’m sure suffering with lazy Monday syndrome now after all that.  See you all soon in my next story.  Happy reading.
